Book review: Marshmallow Skye

You may have seen my last post on the vintage style. I got inspired for this post by Cathy Cassidy's new book: Marshmallow Skye. It's really dreamy and the plot is great, so I thought I'd share it with you here.
Marshmallow Skye is the latest in Cathy Cassidy's Chocolate Box Girls series. In my opinion, it's the best! The series is all about sisters (plus one stepsister) who all have stories to tell. Skye's story? She's the dreamy one out of all the sisters. When she finds a trunk containing vintage clothes, accessories and objects she adores them. And then she finds out they belonged to a girl called Clara long ago who drowned in the sea to escape from marrying a man she didn't love...
Then Skye starts having weird dreams, dreams she loves, dreams she wants to stay in as real life isn't going too well for her at the moment. Her twin sister, Summer, is constantly getting the spotlight while she is overlooked. Even her best friend, Alfie, fancies Summer instead of her! On top of all of this, why is there a boy she's never seen before appearing in her dreams?
It's a great 'escape' book. Fab if you're feeling in a dreamy mood. This book makes you think, and the ending is not what you'd expect.
Five stars from me!

Let me know if you've read it- did you like it? What's the 'dreamiest' book you've ever read?

Jane Eyre

I cannot thank you enough Caroline- your comment has had me brimming with ideas for posts!
It just shows- the idea comments seriously help me. Keep them coming!
One of my all-time favourite books is Jane Eyre. Some quotes from it are below. If you've never read it, here's a feel of what the book is like. If you have, get ready to get swept away again...

"Why was I always suffering, always brow-beaten, always accused, for ever condemned?"

"No reflection was to be allowed now, not once glance was to be cast back, not even one forward."
"Come to me, come to me entirely now," said he, and added, in his deepest tone, speaking in my ear as his cheek was laid on mine, "Make my happiness, I will make yours."

"The child is very young to be sent alone," said she, putting her candle on the table."

"I know what it is to live entirely for and with who I love best on Earth."
Thanks for reading!

Books you've gotta read...

I think it's fair to say that all lovers of writing are also lovers of books. Want a good read? Here are my recommendations!

An absolutley amazing story, everyone I have met who has read it has said the same. It's all about a girl who's adopted and wants to find out where she came from...Girl, Missing by Sophie Mckenzie

One of the weirdest stories I've ever read, but it's incredible! A classic, but the best one! This book could come under loads of catagories: Classic, Romantic, Thriller, Mystery... it's got it all. The story? An orphan Jane who has it tough growing up.. and one day she meets a interesting Mr Rochester... Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte

Pack it in with the bikini and the sunscreen... a light, breezy read, but fantastic! All about Sarah, Bron, and Elsa, three women trying to create perfect weddings, while struggling with love themselves...

A very strange book, yet so riveting. From the first page I was sucked in... this book's all about the mystery. Read and find out why a famous author Vida Winter who never tells the truth is desperate to tell her strange life story to a stranger Margaret Lea... The Thirteenth Tale, Diane Setterfield

I don't care if it's meant for little kids! I LOVE this book! It's so great if you're in need of a comfort story. Meet James who goes on a strange adventure with some animal friends... James And The Giant Peach, Roald Dahl
Okay, so what are your recommendations for me?
